Centricity’s Finance Department:
The department consists of a three-person team, which includes the Senior Director of Finance, Senior Accountant, and the Staff Accountant. Members of this team collaborate with our coworkers in the Business Affairs, A&R, Marketing, and Publishing departments to fulfill their responsibilities.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant reports to the Senior Director of Finance. This position is responsible for managing various financial functions, including the following:
Overseeing daily accounting operations: This involves managing the daily accounting responsibilities for Centricity’s record labels, such as posting revenues and expenses, and handling accounts receivable.
Preparing and analyzing financial statements: Responsible for generating accurate financial statements and reports, which involves tracking and analyzing financial data in comparison to budget.
Ensuring compliance: A key responsibility is to ensure that all financial practices and reports adhere to accounting principles and relevant regulations. Perform regular assessments to ensure the accuracy of financial data and adherence to company policies.
Preparing internal reports: Prepares periodic company cash flow forecast, as well as by artist and project
Budgeting and forecasting: Participates in the annual budgeting process and provides financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning.
Royalty Statement Preparation: Prepares schedules for third-party-prepared record and publishing royalty statements
The Senior Accountant will also coordinate workflow and provide guidance to the Staff Accountant.
Skills:
- BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Proven work experience in financial accounting, including audit experience
(2 to 4 years) - Knowledge of the music industry and royalty accounting highly preferred
- Advanced computer skills with MS Excel and QuickBooks Online
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
