I was born in Abilene, TX, and home for me now is Franklin, TN with my amazing husband Mark.
Pad Thai. With pleeeeeenty of lime and Sriracha sauce. I’m pretty sure I could eat this for every meal for the rest of my life and never get sick of it.
Top 3 Favorite Movies
Pride & Prejudice (BBC version), A Christmas Story, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (my first favorite movie ever and some of the first songs my poor family had to listen to me sing five zillion times).
Top 3 Favorite Books
The Great Divorce (C.S. Lewis), Same Kind of Different As Me (Ron Hall & Denver Moore), and The Applause of Heaven (Max Lucado).
Your guilty pleasure
Sonic Cherry Limeade. The nectar of heaven. Or a big piece of sugary, melt in your mouth baklava. And now I’m drooling…
1st record you ever bought
Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Signs of Life.” To this day I am still President of the SCC fan club.
Coke or Pepsi?
Diet Coke! With some gummy bears -the perfect snack (/meal -let’s be serious. :)).
Last 3 things you watched on Netflix
Blackfish, Friday Night Lights, Jane Eyre.
Siblings, Family Size?
Three older sisters and one (fraternal) twin sister! That’s five girls. My poor dad…we had a male dog named Buddy growing up that he called “his son” haha.
What was your dream job when you were a kid?
Don’t laugh. I wanted to be an Olympic Speed Skater. None of that sissy figure skating stuff. I’d rollerblade for hours upon hours on the street out front of our house hoping someone would notice my incredible speed & help me become the next Bonnie Blair (because odds are Olympic scouts/trainers probably cruised the streets of my neighborhood on a regular basis looking for talent….I mean, you never know.). No such luck.
Your musical influences
Steven Curtis Chapman, Nichole Nordeman, Sarah McLachlan, Sara Bareilles, Patty Griffin, Cindy Morgan, Christy Nockels, Jon McLaughlin, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey….
Do you have kids?
None yet -hopefully someday!
Favorite subject when you were in school?
Pretty much anything that was language related. Spelling when I was young, English when I got older…I was spelling champ in 3rd grade (humble brag) and am still a spelling/grammar stickler. My major in college was Applied Linguistics….you get the picture. I like words!!
Would you rather have hiccups for the rest of your life or feel like you need to sneeze and not be able to for the rest of your life?
This is a tough one. I absolutely HATE (haaaate) that “pre-sneeze” feeling, but I feel like it’d be pretty difficult to sing with the hiccups, so I guess I’ll go with the latter…? Yikes bikes.
Introvert or Extrovert
Introvert primarily in the sense that I need to be by myself for a while to recharge between social outings. But I love people!! I’m an extroverted introvert.
A random/ interesting fact about you
Hmmmmm…I’ve visited over 30 countries! I absolutely love traveling (inherited that from my Mom who grew up overseas and my Air Force Dad), meeting people and experiencing different cultures (& eating yummy food ;)). My family has a ongoing competition over who’s visited the most countries…it’s fierce.
